If people are willing to consider it then that's up to them. Those going for interview are fully aware of the terms and conditions - maybe if they're still willing to consider it actually suits them!?
As far as the clapped out 757's etc are concerned - you should be grateful that BA have looked elsewhere for their pilots after all.
