Actually A-FLOOR
is an ATHR function. A-PROT and A-MAX indications are derived from the FAC but the actual protections are done by the ELAC.
A320 protections start with ATHR at VLS and finish with ATHR at A-FLOOR which will be activated well before A-MAX.
