Nine years with NJA, 8 as PIC.
2007 gross = $170k, + 50% 401k match to IRS limits, + company pays full family medical/loss of license/short and long term disability.
I worked some of the year scheduled on 7-on-7-off, some on 18-day-per-month- my choice. Fly from home -105 US cities.
3 vacation periods/yr, 21 days each. Paid uniform, medical exams, public holidays, first-day show before 0800 local.
Sellback of vacation/12 days annual paid sick leave could take it close to $200k in 2008 for those that want to work that hard...
Flew 220 hours in 2007. However, I`m a check airman- line guys on my fleet were doing from 350-500hrs...
In the US, take home is what you make it- and for most of us, the creative deductions keep us from getting whacked quite as hard as EU residents
Thanks to a strong union and professional, empowered membership, the work environment`s mostly all good, and the new contract has been ratified to 2014- we shall see...
