Tax cuts, development money or even registered charity status will not make CWL competitive to BRS! BRS are rapidly catching BHX up on pax numbers. Why would this news suddenly make Cardiff so competitive?
BRS is getting busier and busier and busier and busier and.....busier! Geographically CWL catchment is tiny compared to BRS and alot of that is to do with the bridge toll. BRS has alot of pax from the M4 corridor, South Wales, the South West, South and West. CWL is limited to South Wales and some South West/Midlands. I lived in Devon and my friends wouldn't even consider a package holiday from CWL. Instead they went for BRS. There is no real reason for that. Its all Psychological, but its also fatal to a business' expansion. CWL will grow with the aviation market (in the same way every other regional has) but if you expect a sudden explosion in pax numbers I think you need to look at trends.
