It is indeed poor planning that there is no published plan for which airlines are moving where on which days, especially as the BA transfer to T5 is a phased transfer with several stages (and every time I read about it, it's different).

Any construction project over this duration would have a detailed plan put together by now where everyone could see what was going to be done when. But apparently BAA are still negotaiting with some of the participants on what to do.

The transfer of BA flights to Spain, operated by 757s, from T1 to T3, is apparently delayed as BA have to "fit out T3 to their standards first" (though goodness knows what is needed, as when BA flights to Miami use T3 at present they just put the BA logo up on the screens above check-in, a 30-second task). And this fitout can't be done until United move from T3 to T1, into the space BA vacate into T5, and United can't fit out T1 until BA vacate it.

Incidentally, although T2 will close the stands will remain in use for remote ops through bus gates from other terminals; Heathrow can't afford to lose any aircraft parking space.

With Star, OneWorld and SkyTeam moving to T1, T3 and T4 respectively there won't be many carriers left at T2 to reaccommodate, but there will be a few. By the way, SkyTeam, T4 is not going to be on the Heathrow Express any more, requiring instead a convoluted connection and wasted time, great for the non-English speaking. Do you realise that ?

Is there a BAA project manager ? Do they have any idea what is going to happen ? Would they care to share this with those involved ?
