Snoop Tax Breaks ...

On a slightly different subject, does anyone know/understand the tax implications and breaks for uniforms, noise cancelling headsets and travel etc within the UK ?

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM50059.htm

I see on the HM R&C website there are several breaks that are avialable and I'm sure these pretty handy for freelance (self employed) guys, but can they be used by someone on PAYE to lower your tax code, if so how do you go about it ? ... For instance we get a uniform but still have to pay for our own shirts, might want a noise cancelling headset etc.

Any of you guys or girls use any of these benefits
