Gulf Air inks $6 billion deal MANAMA: Gulf Air signed a $6 billion (BD2.27bn) deal yesterday with Boeing for acquiring up to 24 wide-bodied aircraft, reports SOMAN BABY. Under the deal, Boeing will help Gulf Air lease aircraft until delivery of the new-generation 787 Dreamliners, said the airline's acting head of corporate communications Adnan Malek. Details of the agreement, signed at Gulf Air's headquarters to coincide with US President George W Bush's visit, will be unveiled today at a Press conference by airline chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji, acting chief executive Bjorn Naf and Boeing officials.
