Both answers are correct in U.K. airspace although the last part of the second question is a bit oddly worded. I think it is referring to the fact that you don't need permission to enter Class F airspace. The questions are both talking about separation which is why it mentions IFR from IFR.

Incidentally, the first is not correct if you are flying the USA, despite what ICAO says.
