From the BBC

"...In a third accident a man piloting his single-engine WWII propeller-driven aeroplane died when he crash-landed at 1500BST at Sywell Airport, Northamptonshire.

The pilot, who was from the county, was dead at the scene.

A Northamptonshire police spokesman said: "A single engine World War II propeller driven aeroplane crashed on landing at Sywell Airport, flipping over on to the cockpit and trapping the pilot inside."

The Civil Aviation Authority and the Health & Safety Executive were informed and the airport temporarily closed."

I have seen reported elsewhere that it was a Sea Fury (completely different from a Spitfire, I assume from the above posts that you also call all airliners Jumbos). The only one based here is owned by Paul Morgan.

A very sad day, my sincere condolences to all concerned.
