JO I think you may be missing a valuable point here.

I have seen many pilots in simulators exercise bad judgement but this has not been picked up in the debrief in the same way as the flying accuracy may be addressed.

I know quite a few pilots who are excellent at arriving at stabilisation altitude fully stable every time but their decison making is questionable.

However it is a difficult one becuase it involves getting personal and many trainers just do not like doing that or have never been tasked to do just that.
