mate,it wasn't a heart by-pass it was for a personality/charisma by-pass as you have to have it re-done every 5 years or so to keep it effective.
He needed it to be done before christmas because he didn't want to give any gifts to anyone and he loves playing Scrooge at this time of year.
On another note the time span seems about right for a heart op.You only stay overnight if it was a stent but a bypass would be about 5 days.Maybe it is another
PR job to keep the 'shareholders and the market' in the dark.
You never know this might be the reason he can use to leave early.
If thats right then watch for how big his pay out will be
