Don't get too depressed about chopped routes and charters, read the business press! The retrenchment by the all inclusive charter operators is happening everywhere. The market is changing to favour the niche operators and the LCCs. The big charter boys are consolidating and slimming. Selling holidays to the masses is a business from the past. Bespoke is more the way to go these days.
I still hold by my prediction for 2008 (see earlier posts) that BOH will see more pax in 2008 than in 2007.
Am quite certain that new routes will emerge from RYR and EZY, perhaps others. The LCCs are growing at a huge rate and want to sustain that growth. A lack of runway slots elsewhere will help to drive their growth at BOH and others (BRS, CWL, even Manston etc....) away from BAA airports in the south that do not have the available runway capacity.
