Having just posted earlier about the increase in holiday flights from Bournemouth Airport it looks like its all change for the worse !!
Along with the decrease of one aircraft from Thomsonfly from next summer and with the loss of Air Berlin and several Ryanair routes we have the news that Thomas Cook and Airtours wont be operating next summer after 12 years of holidays from Bournemouth resulting in the loss of a Palma service by Iberworld and Futura , Heraklion by Eurocypria and Bodrum by Pegasus .
As well as this it looks like Libra are not operating to Larnaca from next summer as Bournemouth has been withdrawn from the booking engine for a considerable time now . Again after 9 years of operating from Bournemouth with full loads this seems really unusual decision to make ?
With the terminal being re built and extended this winter it could be quieter 2008 than was first thought . Lets hope that Easyjet and Ryanair make some positive decisions early next year regarding Bournemouth as a base or at least add to there route network where Thomsonfly have left off and let Bournemouth down to some extent , especially the decision to pull off the Alicante route ! also Amsterdam , Prague , Paris , Valencia and Pisa
A rather disappointing end to the year for Bournemouth but who knows what will happen in 2008 !!
