Have you noticed we don't need to prance around all dolled up in gold braid so people will notice who we are?
No but I have noticed lots of people at clubs with wings etc. I have tried flying airliners with jeans on, my prefered dress, but combined with my russack it upsets the passengers and on quick turn arounds no one knows who to ask about how much fuel you need etc.. The questionable characters are the ones who self title themslves captain and always wear uniform at breakfast in the hotel or anywhere away from the airfield given the opportunity. Have a look at the IMC petition, one man has signed himself Captain, I know this man and he proves the above.
