The reason we all have a limited hour week, holidays and health care is due to unions, many forget that fact. You would not want to work under conditions in place just over a 100 years or so ago.
The secret of course is for unions not to allow their powers to become mercenary and serve individual goals. (UK Car industry 1970's)
The Qantas issue I have been following closely and the union is fully justified in this action. If anything they have taken too long. Any individual taking up the desperate offer by Qantas management may well achieve a short term gain for themselves but undermines everybody's future not just at Qantas but industry wide.
Well done to the inhouse union, well done to it's members for the massive signal of support the ballot provided. Will this absolutely critical and necessary action be undermined by individuals who cannot see the bigger picture.
