May well be in PAX figures, but how about profits? Already it seems that the airport cannot afford the new baggage screening equipment to permit passengers to take two carry on bags.
Sooner or later airports such as EMA will wake up to the fact the reliance on Ryanair and other LoCo carriers but bums on seats but doesn't necessarily produce the revenue to operate as a proper airport should.
I suppose the EMA's saving grace is the revenue it earns from cargo and mail - unless of course DHL and UPS are also paying next to nothing for use of the airport.
