Close, for a Part 61 IR the 50 hrs XC is required.
If you enroll in a Part 141 Instrument course the 50 hrs XC is not required.
However......there's always a but.....

If things don't turn out well, you need to do the same lesson numerous times, you don't study etc etc etc the school may decide to take you off the 141 course and put you back on track in the Part 61 program.
Now you DO need the 50 hrs XC (again).
In short, enrolling in a part 141 program is not an automatic garantee that you will receive a sign off for your IR check ride under part 141.
