ACAM Surveys and Low Voltage warning light

General Requirement GR6 requires the installation of a low voltage warning light with a corresponding Flight Manual Supplement.

Those of you that own older aeroplanes are warned that a certification of the modification must be available to the CAA inspector when your aircraft are surveyed by the CAA. My maintenance organisation was told to deactivate the low voltage warning system on my aeroplane and placard VFR flight only because there was no evidence of an approval for the modification, even though there is a CAA stamped Flight Manual Supplement . Apparently I need to buy a new kit and apply for a minor modification.

Seems a bit bonkers to me to remove a functional safety device that has been reviewed umpteen times since it was installed, and approved by the CAA when a lapsed C of A was restored.
