The best advice is 'don't believe LASORS'! Ever since it was first published the document has been full of errors and inconsistencies and the CAA don't seem capable of getting it right even when the errors are pointed out. It's always better to go to the source document - in this case JAR-FCL 1.245, which states:

(b) Type ratings and multi-engine class
ratings, aeroplane – Revalidation.
For
revalidation of type ratings and multi-engine
class ratings, aeroplane, the applicant shall
complete:

(2) at least ten route sectors as pilot
of the relevant type or class of aeroplane
, or
one route sector as pilot of the relevant type
or class of aeroplane or flight simulator flown
with an examiner during the period of validity
of the rating.

So, for MEP revalidation the sectors have to be flown in an MEP aeroplane.
