Richard Branson has tried on several occasions to operate the Brize - Falkland Islands flights on behalf of the MOD, but they will not let him.
He offered to operate on a non profit basis for the MOD seats / freight, and he would sell the remaining seats to full fare paying pax, but they still said no.
I know that the servicemen would prefer to travel 18 hours in a virgin B747 / A340 instead of the heaps of the DC10 that is currently being used
