Yes, well….

Speaking as the poor dork who was driving the aeroplane, when Snaps referred to making it clear where the car was – it was parked way out on the taxiway. Complete blind spot unless you engage in excessive weaving, which you’d do on an uncontrolled airfield but not when directed to use that taxiway by ATC and under the usual pressure to make a display slot.

Not that we charged off in a straight line, but the thirty degree turns every fifty yards to completely clear the nose are very difficult in this environment, and what with ATC and all the people hanging about you’d expect to be warned of obstructions.

Lesson learnt is that “assume” makes an ass out of you and me.

Fancy assuming that an active taxiway during an airshow would be kept clear!

Anyway, nobody hurt – thank God there was nobody in the back of the car.

As far as captions go, I thought something along the lines of “flying a dirty pass a bit low” would go well.
