Forget the CAA CPL exams and the FI rating. There is a far easier route,especially if you just want to immerse yourself gradually.
It is called the Class Rating Instructor. U only need a PPL, it takes a week for the course (around £1.6k) and allows u to take non- ab initio pilots airborne, conduct differences training, bi-annual check rides and SEP refreshers. U cannot be paid but that sounds like no problem for you.
I just finished the course on Friday. Apparently this is a new rating (about 2 years old) and few people have heard of it.
