74world, it's my understanding that the Hungarian CAA have failed 2 JAA audits so far (certainly 1 at least), and "in the next 12 months" has a familiar ring to it for Hungarian pilots. This has lead to many Hungarian pilots speculating that the reason for the lack of Hurry Up on the part of the CAA may be political - in the sense that it makes it far harder for their pilots to disappear off to better-paying jobs in the rest of the EU.
Even when the audit is passed, there remains the distinct possibility that new JAA converted licences may not be accepted by other member states, especially for engineers as has happened in the past with their neighbours.
