Just one word of advice - when you're asked about current affairs, please come up with something more original than Iraq and Afghanistan! Every man and his dog will reel those 2 off and if you can come up with something different it will make you stand out from the crowd.
If you really want to show off and are feeling particularly brave, pick a topic from each continent and go round the globe linking the continents together through your topics of choice. You will confuse the hell out of the boarding officers who probably didn't manage to get past the sports page, tv section or latest rant of the Daily Mail and really show some depth and understanding.
Oh and an understanding of outdated management practices and budgeting procedures that permanently put you in the red will also be expected. They are after all the dominant theme in today's Armed Forces - expeditionary ops are a mere sideline whilst waiting for the next initiative to come in!
