I strongly suspect that CDG will be crewed, at least in part, by ORY based pilots positioning by taxi. I cannot believe it is cheaper to base dozens of cabin crew (all with french contracts and paying french taxes and NI) than a few pilots. The problem lies I suspect with our fixed pattern, which means some of the roster groups will be empty. Therefore crews will need to be positioned even if there are pilots based there. Things will probably change once these bases get more aircraft. The other issue is with the french pilot contract. It is far from being resolved, and I understand the reason why the company would not want to open a base transfer list at this time.

All french residents will definitely get a french contract. The company wouldn't be going through this sort of ordeal if they weren't planning to keep us in France for the long run.

The plan is to base about 12 aircraft in CDG. Pilots will be based there, it's only a matter of time. Hotels aren't that cheap, even in Paris...
