Question is, what on earth was going on and how long before we see this new system intergrated at other U.K. airports ??
You may be too young to have witnessed the ultimate push back system adopted by America West at PHX and other US deaprture points in the early 80's when ALL push back's were simply a case of 'engage reverse thrust & open up the throttles' goodness knows who or what was blown away that eventually put a stop to this practice but at the time it was wonderful to witness & kept turn around costs to basically nil.
