Generalisations seldom do much good to anyone, beyond spoiling relations between groups of people who could otherwise be useful to each other.
Yes there are stupid, insensitive, careless and unthinking oafs in my profession (and a few in yours, too!) and they should be reined in, but can we please try and avoid the temptation to treat all journos and commentators as though they were a heterogeneous group?
Some of us have feelings, you know. Not me, but some of us.
Incidentally, those journos who've been reporting from Pakistan have probably been in more immediate danger in the last week than most of those posting here. The food and water out there......
