So, an 'A' scale captain based in Hong kong, retiring in a few months time, has these options:
Become a C & T.
Go on a base.
Transfer to the freighter.
Otherwise, retire at 55.
Of all the very many people approaching retirement at 55 over the next few years are there seriously going to be:
Enough C & T slots (If capable and accepted)
Enough positions on base (Now we will all shortly be able to extend to 65)
Enough freighter vacancies"
