well its not a year anymore....there is such a backlog at Jandakot that some of the cadets get to fly once a fortnight....so it can take up to 1 1/2 years now....
What's Jandakot have to do with line training?
Most if not all line training will be done in Singapore, from the ground school (CBT a.k.a Coffee Break Time) for your respective fleet (A320, B747 or B777), then followed by Sim sessions, all are done in STC, with the exception of B747 Sim. Then come the flying with the real plane, doing couple of circuits in Changi or Senai. Once you completed this stage, you'll get your first bar (Second Officer).
It will take around another 6 more months (plus/minus couple of months) of flying as Second Officer before getting your second bar (First Officer).
Average time for line training is still around 1 year.
