Surely people up-loading a half minute video to YouTube don't send 37Megs.
No, probably around one tenth of that in general - but then the quality is crap, due to the high compression! Of the picture and sound, I mean, whatever about the content!
YouTube has a file size limit of 100MB - which could be anything from 30 secs to 10 minutes (max. length), with obvious implications for the quality.
37MB for 30s - that would equate to 74MB per minute, or 7.4GB for a 100 min. film. DVDs are in the order of 4.7GB, or 8.5GB for dual layer, but then they are somewhat compressed, so it sounds about right.
