Most of my time (75%) is in tail wheel a/c.
I have a good bit of Chipmunk time but have never had to fly one with "silly" x-winds.
The Chippie is a rather benign aircraft, especially in that difficult 12", 'tween ground and air/air and ground.
Sounds to me like you just need more time in her!
