performance, earlier wind tunnel
studies confirmed that they do not
benefit a high aspect ratio wing like the
Citation X's. In fact, the profile drag of
a winglet can actually increase total
drag. Other potential disadvantages of
winglets include reduced Dutch roll
stability, the potential for high Mach
buzz due to airflow separation, and
increased risk of damage while parking
in congested hangars."
