Figures. He mentioned British and Britishness 71 times but Iraq and Afghanistan just once each. He could hardly have ignored them completely but that was clearly what he would have prefered.
Had he mentioned it then he would have had to talk about the
British Army which would not have fitted in his speech and may be Des was planning to announce it later? Or was it buried deliberately?
