10 DME ARC Totally agree with your point re advertising. I have many colleagues and friends who live in the DTV catchment area but have absolutley no connection with the aviation industry, though virtually everyone of them could name all the airlines that operate from DTV and provide a pretty reasonable overview of destinations on offer. More so they all know where to look to fill the gaps in their knowledge when needed. But they only use DTV infrequently. The point that I would add is that it is not advertising that is lacking, any idiot can saturate all available advertising hoardings with eyecatching flash slogans & bright colour, what IS lacking is effective marketing & promotion. This is a much more complex subject and needs to aimed at inducing the punters to travel via DTV, by promoting flights through tour brochures or marketing as the most quick and effective and inexpensive way of travelling from 'A' to 'B'. ......Now the problem to all this is that as the services are severely limited, & the airports transport links & hence accessibility are poor, then the product for the marketing team to promote simply doesn't exist ! As said on many postings it's a vicious circle and with the competition gaining in presence, then the future presents major problems to be overcome.
