I agree with all the above posts.
But one of our biggest problems has been the last minute upgrading of Y pax either paying cash at the check-in or using frequent flyer points. So if the flight showed 6 empty seats in J class 99% of the time you still got bumped down to Y.
This should stop that occurring don't you think? If you believe the letter it should not happen.
As to weather we get UPGRADED to F class? well? mmmm time will tell.
I think this is an improvement.
