Tend to agree with 'Category 5' in terms of size of business Market.

Just saw CEO of Silverjet on Bloomberg and he's claiming 3.2M psgrs
to DXB v 4.2m to NYC per annum and therefore Silverjwt won-t have a
problem filling 100 seats per day.
Not sure if he-s talking all UK points to these points rather than LON ?

CAA stats for 2006 show 2.75M LHR/JFK v 1.375m LHR/DXB , eactly half.
Plus a high % on DXB routes are not point to point , they are connecting
on to EK network to OZ, Far East , S.AFRICA , India , Pakistan .
The point to point Mkt to DXB which is what Silverjet can go for ,is
probably considerably less than 50% of LHR/NYC pt 2 pt and within that
the Premium pt to pt is probably even smaller % again compared with NYC.

Also the fare differentials are a lot different.
Silverjet Fare to NYC is substancially less than the next major carrier and
probably 2/3 less than carriers like BA/VS.

As omeone has pointed out elsewhere EK are selling Business class
for £1270 in Nov . Is EK service on 777 or even A380 worth a couple
of hundred pounds more ?

Its really too hot in DXB JUN-SEP which stifles demand and in the
Oct-May period its often very difficult to get Hotel accomodation and
this restricts demand as well.

We-ve also seen how EI have fared on DUB/DXB v Dub/U.S.A .

Sounds like a bit risky to me , maybe Silverjet would have been better to expand U.S service ( think they talked abt ORD ).
