North Canadian Routes

The routes have recently changed and some of the 5 digit designators on our PLOGS are rather open to confusion.

A standard NAT waypoint would appear as - say 4950N and would be entered as that in the box. This means 49'00N/50'00W - so far, so good.

Now go down a NOR route in Canada and you find sonething like N6670. Now the N is at the beginning but instead of it meaning 66'00N/70'00W it means 66'30N/70'00W.

How to create a potential 30 mile track error on one simple change !

It all gets thrown up when you do your track and distance check, I know, but don't try checking the box against the Jepp book because it only does whole degrees and will confirm your error in the box
