Where does the UK/JAR "twin only" mentality come from?
After working in other countries and seeing how they fly/operate, I was wondering how we ended up, (in UK/Europe), with the current "twin engine" only mentality.
Eg flights over congested areas - twin only. Banner towing - twin only. Police - twin only. and so on...
In the UK, did this come from the CAA? Any insight into the origins of this mentality would be interesting.
