Thanks for posting this GPS issue.

I set off from North Weald today and found that my 296 was indicating 'No Signal'.
The previous aircraft user had set Sandown frequency 119.275 in to the standby position and this was causing the GPS signal problem.

As soon as I had changed frequency on the standby setting the GPS recovered, I tried it again with the same effect.

I can only assume that this particular Narco set use separate Local Oscillators for the Active and Standby settings and swaps L.O.s rather than just setting new values in to a digital L.O. synthesiser.

I can now see why a hand held GPS will never be approved.
