Infrequent visitor these days but popped on today, and suprised to hear an EZY 737 directed to stand 61 - where is that? Long accustomed to stand 56 but not this. Sorry mods if this a bit spotterish!
Is the radar head south of 26 ever used these days? Not seen it go round in ages.
Stand 61 is accessed off Taxiway Echo and has been in use for some years. If you also don't know where this is, suggest that you check out the AIP or Pooleys...
The on-site radar hasn't been used since February 2001 when Luton Radar transferred to West Drayton. The aerial plus electronics were allegedly bought by Bournemouth Airport some years ago (apparently, their primary radar is of a similar vintage) but rumour is that they're still saving up to pay for a 'white van man' to take it away.
