It's just that Shannon's lobby sound like whingers. Shannon should try and reposition itself as a modern progressive airport and not get hung up on passenger figures. Taking a short term hit might be better than throwing money at airlines to fly in there. It should also watch its cost base as the numbers employed there are out of all proportion to the size of the airport
At one stage Aer Rianta had over 3 times as many employees at Shannon as they had at Cork even though pax numbers were similar.
