I enjoyed reading your post Drop, I don't agree with it but at least you make an argument.
If you don't mind, I'd like to comment on a few things you write.

Isn't it the Commander in Chiefs responsibility for verifying intelligence instead of altering it to suit his needs? Wasn't the whole 'pre-war' aluminum canister, and nuclear procurement stories, which have subsequently been proven to be fabrications of his administration, enough evidence that he duped everyone? Are you suggesting that actually 'planting WMD' in Iraq was possible? Remember when he claimed that they found 'pre-cursors' to WMD and that was then enough for the media to jump all over, thereby justifying the war... at least for a couple of years anyhow.
And no, the rest of the world didn't think they had WMD, as evidenced by the UN's refusal to sanction war against Iraq. Even the 'intelligence' community in the US didn't think they had WMD, hence so many individuals threatened or fired if they made their beliefs known.
As for Clinton's regime change policy, yes that is true, but it did not include WAR. I suspect there are SEVERAL 'regime change' policies in effect during any Presidency, but that usually only involves economic and political pressures, not outright WAR.

Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. Now it is the recruiting grounds for misguided and generally screwed up fanatics. The latest 'intelligence' report says that Al Qaeda is now stronger that it was post 9/11. It is not a safer world since the invasion and subsequent deaths of thousands of American soldiers, not to mention 10x that amount of civilians.
9/11 was the excuse GWB was looking for, to invade Iraq.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

'' Amazing that you could even suggest that GWB is concerned about the environment. An energy efficient house, bought from the unbelievable wealth of the Bush family, does nothing to erase years of policies that have ignored growing concerns about climate change and in fact, until very recently, have refutted what the scientific community is in total agreement over.
