As for the cars, didn't "The Hair Cornflake" AKA DLT attend Radio 1 roadshows with Ed Straker's car? I understand he (allegedly) used to have it transported on a trailer to within the last mile or so, then drive the last bit in the car and open the gull wing door, which took a huge amount of engine/hydraulic pump power to operate. Poser.
