degrees" on the busy london freqs?? And then you get cleared for an ILS approach but that doesn't necessarily mean you can descend with the G/P like it does in the rest of the world..
Of course like everything else in life it depends on the situation. If the frequency is not congested it doesn't bother me confirming and double confirming QNH's etc.
