Judgment in the SCO-Novell case, in which Microsoft's sock-puppet SCO claimed that it owned all the UNIX copyrights and and thus rights over any UNIX-lookalike OSes like Linux, is finally out.

The SCO-IBM litigation, in which SCO claimed that IBM had illegally released SCO's UNIX IP into Linux (among other things) thus also collapses.
So much for the "millions of lines" of illegally copied code.
So much for the $699 that SCO hoped to extort from every Linux user.
Let the counter suits begin.....thought I doubt it - SCO wagered everything on this scam succeeding and now has almost no money left and only a bunch of obsolete IP that nobody wants. Bankruptcy looms. The shareholders are baying for Darl's head.

But for $20m (chump change), Microsoft managed to buy 4 years of usable FUD against Linux, so I guess they think it was a bargain.
