I saw on globo.com how TR are blocked: a valve is closed in the engine and a pin is introcuced in the mechanism itself, to prevent the panels from opening. But surely, this can't be the whole story? Is there no intervention in the FADEC? And could this intevention, or the lack of it, cause other failures or incorrect readings?
I followed the declaration of Y Malinge before the parliamentary commission life, and I was very surprised about the way he pre-empted the investigation, stating very categorically that the a/c hadn' t failed. I suppose he was just doing his job, ie. to defend AB. And one of the MP's, a junior female member, did ask why the extra alarm hadn't been made mandatory, and how much this would cost per a/c. But she didn't get an answer and was - rightly so - quite disturbed...
