The confusion has arisen because you used to have to refer to frequencies with 8.33KHz spacing as 'channels'. i.e. the actual frequency 132.0833Khz was referred to as 'Channel 132.010'. This requirement has now been removed. There is no requirement to call any frequencies 'Frequency', although it is often done. Thus 'Contact Tower frequency 132.010' would be as correct or as incorrect as 'Contact Tower 132.010'.

CAP 413 is miles ahead of ICAO Annex 10 in setting out a workable standard for R/T but it is not mandatory and there are often several equally acceptable forms of R/T. The question you are referring to used to test the use of the word 'channel' when it was mandatory, I don't think it is still used.
