Yup the reason I was asking is because according to Infraero, they are predicting a rise in passenger arrivals to Natal from the current 1.3 mil per annum to 5 mil per annum once the new airport opens for business.
Several multinational developers are investing heavily into the Natal area (as BelArgUSA said, almost an invasion) and soon there will be mega resorts in the area with over 20 000 new residential apartments and villas in the north of Natal.
The reason we are discussing potential flight routes in 2010 when the airport opens (whether Amarante will be open in 2010 is another matter - can an airport of that size be built and open in 3 years?) is to ascertain whether those units will be able to be rented out to holidaymakers.
