the pic you show of a 'mustang' taxying for take off is not the P51 'Stang' that was involved in the incident - it is a titan mustang. I was on one of the viewing platforms at the end of the homebuilt area.
I was also at the show and saw the results of the crash - there was considerable damage to 'Stang' with a gash in the fuselage behind the cockpit (poss hit by prop) and the port elevator + part of tail is missing.
A very sad day.
