The managers
are to blame for the state of the terminal.
There used to be night ops whose main job was to clean the floors every single night and most of the time all night so the place was presentable when it opened for business in the morning.
Then year on year other duties were added to their role including driving buses and baggage handling.
The usual speel comes out when they put in for a regrade.

Why do we have people in place that cannot see that if you take someone from doing 1 job and make him do a different job, then there's no way on Gods earth that the 1st job can be done to the same standard-if at all.
There used to be at least 4 cleaners per shift during the day then that has been whittled down to 1 airside and 1 landside at best but again they seem ignorant of the fact that if there is noone stood there with a mop or hoover then the place can't clean itself.
They have told night ops to do different tasks and have cut back dramatically on day cleaners yet then state that because "they" are not keeping the place clean then it is going out to contract instead.
As for the terminal development goes, there is nothing down at present for any extra gates but look on the brightside you'll be able to "enjoy" a burger king airside next year.
No doubt it will still close just before tea time like it does now.
and yes ATC shut for half hour again.
